Abstract

The cities are growing rapidly in order to accelerate the process of urbanization. However, these developments have brought several critical impacts to the problem of stormwater management due to the weak flood defenses of the concrete surface. As a result, flooding events are happening in every city. Therefore to solve this problem, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) and Green Infrastructure (GI) systems are strategies for stormwater management which intended to match the current drainage schemes and the public environment with the natural rainwater process. This research has been identified the benefits of SUDS and GI, the techniques of SUDS and GI, the strategies to promote SUDS and GI, and the barriers in adopting SUDS and GI. The literature review was carried out to meet the objectives. Then the questionnaire form was designed and distributed to the Developer, Consultant, and Contractor located in Klang Valley for the research of SUDS and GI. After the questionnaires were returned by the respondents, the data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis and graphic analysis through Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) software. The anticipated findings for the objectives indicated that the highest mean score was the most agreed answers and the lowest mean score was be the least agreed answers.
