Abstract

Currently, residential housing is found unaffordable in Malaysia. Furthermore, supply of affordable housing is insufficient compare to the demand. In the other hand, LSF system, which is one type of IBS, has less construction time, low material cost. It reduces labour cost and return higher profit to developer in construction stage. It could replace the current conventional method in construction of affordable housing construction projects. However, there is no recent research provides related statistics on recent buyer perception on LSF housing in Malaysia during these 5 years. Thus, purpose of this research is to identify the current perception of consumers to purchase LSF housing as a residential building. Journal is mostly referred to gather information about advantage of LSF, comparison between LSF and conventional building and buyer’s perception to LSD/IBS residential building. This research adopted quantitative research method. The research instrument of this research is a questionnaire issued to CIDB IBS steel framing system Grade 7 local contractors in Kuala Lumpur. The data collected is then analysed by descriptive analysis of IBM SPSS software. Rank is defined towards agree or importance level of respondent on the objectives.
