Abstract

The green building practice has been growing slowly for the past thirty years. Green practitioners had inspected various ways which can implement green building. The materials and resources needed for green building are one of the big challenges which can cause an impact on resource preservation. Several studies had been done to investigate the barriers of implementing green buildings. However, sustainable development is still considered low in the construction industry of Malaysia. One of the objectives of this study is to find out the barriers of implementing green buildings in Malaysia. To carry out the study, the previous related studies had been obtained and collected. Therefore, the literature review consists of secondary data. This study is using a quantitative method to analyze the data collected through a questionnaire survey. A questionnaire survey will help to collect the opinion of respondents in strategies to overcome the barriers in green building implementation in Malaysia.
