Abstract
Global outbreak of COVID-19 significantly impacted the construction activities in the form of disruption on supply chains and delay on construction site’s activities which has affected the productivity in construction industry. Besides that, COVID-19 pandemic has become the turning point for industry to start the journey of digital transformation. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of COVID-19 pandemic to productivity of small and medium sized construction firms. This research reviewed the effect that cause the decline of productivity in small and medium sized contractor during COVID-19 pandemic and determined the benefits of digital transformation to small and medium sized contractor after the pandemic of COVID- 19. Questionnaire survey conducted on 368 numbers of respondents from small and medium sized construction firms that located at Kuala Lumpur, Selangor area. Total 93 numbers of data were collected and analysed by SPSS software. The findings of this research revealed effects of COVID-19 in term of productivity that hit hardest to small and medium sized contractors. The findings of the benefits of digital transformation are able to assist contractor and relevant parties that involved in construction industry in order to increase productivity.
