There are numbers of reasons that caused the happen of this issue, therefore knowing the demand of residential property of Malaysian is important so that the supply meet the demand of the market. Therefore, this research is carried out to determine the perception of young generation among homeownership and the attributes that affect them in purchasing a residential property. Literature review comprised the data collection and information to support this research by reviewing the journals, articles and statistics published by government. A mixed method of descriptive and exploratory design is used by distributing questionnaire face-to-face administered or through online and conducting semi- structured interview to collect data from the young generation living in Endah Ria Condominium. After data collection, descriptive statistics, sample T-test, one-way ANOVA test and average mean and standard deviation are obtained with the use of SPSS for data analysis to achieve the objectives of this research. Descriptive statistics shows that most of the young generation still holding perception on owning a residential property is important. Average mean and standard deviation analysis revealed that neighbourhood and structural attribute are the most important factors affecting the young generation in the purchase of residential property. Time and cost constraints, locational limitation and low response rate were the limitation of this research. Therefore, improvement is needed for the future study to obtain more information from the larger sampling size.
