Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of perceived social support and self-efficacy towards physical activity level during Covid-19 among TARUC students. Participants n=175 (aged between 18 to 26) consisted of 89 males and 86 females volunteering in this study. Participants completed surveys of Demographic data, Godin-Shephard Leisure-Time Physical Activity Questionnaire (GSLTPAQ) (reliability = .516), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) (reliability = .907), Exercise Self-Efficacy Scale (ESES) (reliability = .919). Mean differences of physical activity level for male (32.02 ± 19.938, n=96) and female (27.48 ± 19.984, n=79). Mean differences of perceived significant others social support for male (5.109 ± 1.282, n=96) and female (5.351 ± 1.562, n=79). Mean differences of perceived family social support for male (5.305 ± 1.223, n=96) and female (5.313 ± 1.366, n=79). Mean differences of perceived friends social support for male (5.357 ± 1.173, n=96) and female (5.377 ± 1.193, n=79). Mean differences of exercise self-efficacy for male (31.45 ± 5.991, n=96) and female (29.24 ± 5.897, n=79). There was a reported correlation between physical activity level and perceived social support subscale (family). There was a reported correlation between physical activity level and exercise self-efficacy. There was a reported correlation between the perceived social support subscale (significant others) and exercise self-efficacy. There was a reported correlation between the perceived social support subscale (family) and exercise self-efficacy. There was a reported correlation between the perceived social support subscale (friends) and exercise self-efficacy.
