Abstract

The study attempt to investigate character design as a form of visual exploration used to enhance vegetables and fruits intake in children‘s daily. Through visuals, the researcher acts as a designer to do an experiment to create cartoon characters on mobile gaming app that makes children more aware of the issue. The scope of this research is to allow character design to be recognized as an important form of visual exploration that can influence children eating habit and their reaction towards cartoon characters that highlight health issues in Malaysia. The researcher has conducted semi-interview to further understand the objective of the topics. The researcher had the privilege to interview Mr P’ngYi Wei, a game designer based in Kuala Lumpur with years of experience who has illustrated innumerable cartoon character on mobile gaming app。 The researcher has also selected some references journal and their contents for analytical purposes for reference. The researcher has analysed and has come up with 6 cartoon characters on mobile gaming app, according to the researcher’s design statement.
