Abstract
The study attempt to explore the aided interactive component in general knowledge-based activity book as an alternative learning material and the most effective format of it in improving classroom interaction and independent learning quality for elementary grade students. Through visuals, the researcher using knowledge in design fields to create a children activity book as an alternative learning material that specializes in general knowledge which also includes aided interactive components. This requires the involvement of two different perspectives and views of the researching area. The objective of this research study is to understand how activity books can be used as a learning material to enhance the children's interest in general knowledge and the possibilities of interactive components in improving classroom interaction. The researcher conducted product analysis and two semi-structured interviews for an in-depth understanding of the objective of the research topic. The research conduct product analysis in the few popular bookstores in Kuala Lumpur. The researcher had the approval to interview Ms. Emila Yusof, a children’s book designer, and Ms. Lee Yoon Cheng, with more than 10 years of experience in teaching elementary school. The researcher also selected some references journals and articles for the purpose of references in the research paper. The researcher had analyzed all the data collected and has come up with a general knowledge-based activity book design that includes aided interactive components and a variety of activity.
