Abstract

The study attempt to investigate the sarcastic visual metaphor in illustration advertising that create awareness of social issues, as a tool for creative thinking to the public. Through visuals, the researcher acts as a designer to do an experiment on manipulating the illustration that able to create a stronger impact in raising awareness of social issues with the implementation of visual metaphor. The scope of this research is to define effectiveness of the visual metaphor in create social awareness in illustration and advertisement. The researcher has conducted four case studies for further understand the objective of the topics. The researcher had the privilege to interview Mr. Nascent Choy, a motion graphic designer and illustrator with years of experience. The researcher has also selected some references journal and their contents for analytical purposes for reference. The researcher has analyzed and has come up with the design process, according to the researcher’s design statement.
