Abstract

This paper is to study on Korean film production and it's behaviour impact on Malaysian young adults. Korean wave has circulated in Malaysia over the last two decades since 2002, and Korean films are expanding as a new wave. Thus, this paper has three objectives to study on, firstly the expectations towards Korean films, secondly cultural and trend preference after watching Korean films, and thirdly the behaviour impacts. Agenda-setting theory is implemented in this paper, to study the media on controlling the audience. Hence, a qualitative method, focus group is conducted in this paper, to have a qualitative data. The result of the data collected shows that the young adults have slight low preference on Korean culture and trend, as well as have been behavioural impacted since the Korean wave has just started, when the K - drama and K-pop has entered Malaysia.
