Abstract
In the 21th century, the media have become one of the powerful tools that can bring impact to the thinking against the audience especially youngsters. Therefore, this research is to study the media portrayal and also their influence on the audience. According to the research of England, Descartes and Collier-Meek (2011), they claimed that Walt Disney will always portray the stereotypical gender role message throughout their Disney princess movies. Therefore, this research will focus on the portrayal of stereotypically gender role and the female stereotype idea by Disney princess movies from the youngsters. Besides that, this research will also discuss nine Disney princesses that being released by Walt Disney from the past until now. Thus, the researcher will separate these Disney princesses into three different eras which are the Domestic era, the Willfulness era and the New Modern era. By looking at these three eras, the researcher will discuss and examine the constant changes of Disney princesses which following the trend of the society and the feminist movement. Last but not least, the research will be using a quantitative online survey in order to achieve the research question and research objective. Furthermore, the result of the data collected is also one of the important parts of this research which can help the researcher observe the view and opinion of the youngsters in Malaysia toward the Disney princess movies and their stereotype idea.
