Abstract

In the last couple of years, electronic data is ubiquitous. Business practices and commerce often require data to be transmitted securely from one place to another place. However, enterprises around the world have experienced their confidential or sensitive internal data lost, leaked or stolen to the outside. A wide range of high-profile cases of data loss have cost organizations millions of dollars in direct and indirect costs and may let misusers involve into illegal activities by using those data. These incidents may occur when employees need to take out confidential or sensitive data for certain situation like a business trip. Hence, a solution is needed to be proposed to solve this problem. The main purpose of this system is to make the USB drive safe to transmit data and protect the confidentiality and integrity of the data inside the USB drive. Besides, this system should have able to prevent the malware install through USB drive. AES and SHA method is implemented inside this system. This system is developed by following the waterfall methodology. The scope of this project is looking through various methods to implement security features into the USB drive and minimizing the risk of the confidential and integrity of data being access and perform modification in an improper manner.
