Abstract

In the current era of technology, computer has become a daily basis to every company in this world. Therefore, computer system act as a huge role in terms of assets because confidential and protected data are saved inside. These confidential and protected data are valuable and cannot be simply exposed to the market as it has high value among all company. Therefore, there will be some immoral individual tend to steal these confidential data or implant virus into the computer system to expose these protected data to third parties for high amount of money. This attack is called as insiders attack, it is considered as one of the malicious attacks. In short, this research is aimed to show how honeypots can act as a prevention to insider attack in the field of information technology and security. It also aims to point out the importance of prevention before incidents happen as the loss is sometimes in immeasurable.
