Abstract

In this project report, we investigate the heart disease problems by using Logistic Regression Analysis. The report consists of five chapters. In Chapter 1, we introduce the statistics of heart disease which happened in the global, the types of heart disease and the percentage of death worldwide due to heart disease. In Section 1 of Chapter 1, we have introduced the definitions of heart disease and Logistic Regression Analysis. In Section 2 of Chapter 1, we present the problem statement and objective of doing this analysis on heart disease. In Chapter 2, we referred to other research papers which related to heart disease and do some summary conclusion on it. In Section 1 of Chapter 2, we present some learning lessons related to logistic regression analysis from the reference books. In Section 2 of Chapter 2, some literature review about heart disease presented. In Chapter 3, we study the methodologies of logistic regression model. In the first section of Chapter 3, we study the logistic regression model, assumptions of logistic regression model and software tool which is IBM SPSS 25.0 used to test the dataset and generate result. In the second section of Chapter 3, data collection and requirement are presented. In Chapter 4, we present the main results of the dataset that generated by SPSS. In Section 1 of Chapter 4, we checked the assumptions of logistic regression analysis before starting the analysis. In Section 2 of Chapter 4, we interpret the main results generated and remove the least significant predictor variables until all the significant predictor variables remained in the model. Also, we checked the significance of each model after removing some predictor variables. In Chapter 5, we present conclusion of the analysis and recommendations of the topic for further improvements.
