Abstract
Event Registration System is a continuous project that went through three iterations with two platforms, the frontend mobile application and backend website. The major problem found in the system is lack of flexibility in choosing a platform to work on due to both platforms consist of separate features. Moreover, the image storing method brings down the efficiency of the system. Besides, the system also lacks the expandability of the organizer’s participant group due to no links to organizer’s social media page and only allow single promo code for each event. Furthermore, inefficiency of administration work due to only single admin is enabled, and provide least user experiences due to improper layout in organizer details page are the problems spotted in the system. The project focuses on the frontend mobile application called Event Application System with several proposed modules including organizer’s user module, event module, promo code module and report generation module, and admin’s user module, event application maintenance module and report generation module, and participant’s organizer subscription module to overcome the problems mentioned. The system is developed using increment software development model, and using Android Studio and NetBeans IDE to write the Java and PHP programming codes, respectively. Several testing methods will be applied to carry out the testing including black box testing, unit testing and bottom up testing as well as preparing test plans with various test cases specified. The project does benefit the users such as student, staff, public user, event organizer and admin through simplifying the whole event registration processes. However, improvements such as showing a map to indicate venue’s location, reward and benefits feature, better image fetching method, purchase status verification mechanism, better ID generation method, and user interface (UI) enhancement could be carried out in the future.
