Abstract
COVID-19 Pandemic is the hottest topic all around the world since 2019 and this causes many industries closing down or delaying the process and bring financial recession. Construction industry which is a labour-based industry has a high rate of tested positive employees on swab test than other industries. This unique nature makes construction industry need a proper health and safety management to solve this issue. The aim of this research is to investigate how the health and safety management assists the relevant authorities in construction sites to control the spread of COVID-19 by identifying the effect of COVID-19 towards employees on construction site (RO1) and introducing health and safety management strategies during COVID-19 Pandemic (RO2). The methodological design used is quantitative method. Primary data which needed in quantitative method is collected from the two construction sites through questionnaire survey and they are used to obtain RO1. The sites are located Pasir Panjang, Port Dickson and Seremban. IBM SPSS Statistic version 21 and Microsoft Excel used to analyze the effects of the COVID-19 on construction site employees. The respondents are not only been affected on the physical health but also mental health. All the results are presented in the format of tables and graphs. Secondary data which needed in quantitative content analysis research is gathered from comprehensive secondary research and they are heavily imposed on this study to reach RO2. Once all the collected data had been analysed, the results will be shown in tables and graphs. Findings are analysed and conclusions are drawn in this research. From primary data collected through questionnaire for RO1, the construction site employees are effected by the COVID-19 Pandemic not only on physical health but also mental health. The secondary data collected from secondary research for RO2 provide the guidelines and strategies for construction authorities on the health and safety management. Moreover, these proper strategies and ways would reduce the spread of COVID-19 to minimal.
