Abstract
E-tendering is a more effective method compared with a traditional tendering method and it becomes more compelling especially during this COVID-19 pandemic. However, most tenderers prefer the traditional paper-based approach as they have used it in construction well throughout the years and they are more familiar with the traditional tendering system. The purpose of this study is to explore the impacts of implementation of e-tendering in the Malaysian Construction Industry. This study is expected to deliver benefits and challenges of e-tendering system, in such a way, we will have more understanding about the e-tendering system and thus achieved an advanced and effective tendering system in Malaysia. Moreover, this study helps to determine the readiness and the impacts of e-tendering system to Malaysian Construction Industry so that the construction industries are capable to overcome the possible issues and enhance their implementation of e-tendering system in Malaysia. The impacts of e-tendering system are also discussed in this dissertation. This study used secondary and primary sources to achieve the research objectives. The secondary data sources includes the literature reviews of published works by other researchers while primary data collection is the data that is collected from the direct communication with the respondents. The research applied quantitative and qualitative data in which online questionnaire surveys had been distributed to the targeted respondents and interviews are conducted. The sampling design including the target population, sampling techniques and sampling size has been discussed. The results are discussed and analysed in the Chapter 4 by using the Microsoft Excel with the assistance of tools such as tables, pie charts, graphs, histograms, and pivot tables for the collected data.
