Abstract

The research attempts to study on the adoption of the technologies for the transformation of Construction Project Management in Industry 4.0. A questionnaire survey was carried out among the developers to explore their awareness on the available technologies, the challenges faced and perceived benefits gained in adopting these technologies for the transformation of Construction Project Management in Industry 4.0. Also, it finds out on the three hypotheses which are the relationship between the awareness of developers on available technologies and the challenges faced and/or the perceived benefits gained as well as the significance of difference of the awareness of developers on available technologies between the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur area. The findings are cloud computing and big data and big data analytics have the highest and lowest mean score respectively for awareness, the difficulty of undertaking substantial start-up cost and the legality issue on handling of the recorded information have the highest and lowest mean score respectively for challenges, achieve long-term cost savings by increasing the efficiency and productivity of the whole project process and enhancing the quality control of site production have the highest and lowest mean score respectively for benefits. Furthermore, the possibility for data exposed to thefts by the hackers has the highest occurrence of challenge that have affected by the available technologies whereas achieve longterm cost savings by increasing the efficiency and productivity of the whole project process has the is the highest occurrence of perceived benefits that have affected by the available technologies. Lastly, the overall awareness of developers on the available technologies are higher in Kuala Lumpur compared to Selangor.
