Abstract

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a new emerging approach to design, construction, and facility management in which a digital representation of the building process is being created to facilitate the exchange and interoperability of information in digital format. Despite the advantages derived from this paradigm, local construction industry is reluctant to deploy the technology in its service delivery. In addition, dispute is recognised as critical cause of deficiency and low performance in construction projects. The objectives of the study include identifying the level of BIM tools utilization and the barriers for the implementation of Building information modelling (BIM). Moreover, this study aims to propose Building Information Modelling (BIM) to control conflict causes before the occurrence of disputes. Literature review, questionnaire survey, SPSS Statistics are used to achieve the objectives. Questionnaire surveys are used to collect the primary data and data collected were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and Microsoft Excel. A total number of one hundred and five (105) sets of questionnaires was distributed via email the link of Google form. Cross tabulation, multiples frequencies analysis, descriptive statistics in SPSS software were used to analyse the data. Moreover, the data was also analysed using Relative importance index (RII) and graph was produced using Microsoft excel.
