Abstract

The purpose of this study was to accesses the dimensions of burnout among competitive swimmers in Kuala Lumpur. The study was conducted using a non- experimental correlational design. The sample consist of 103 swimmers in Kuala Lumpur divided in to male and female, with the age ranging from 13-17 years old with competitive experience from 1 to more than 5 years. All participants were require to answer a demographic questionnaire and also ABQ questionnaire by Raedeke and Smith in a form of google forms. Results shows that reduce sense of accomplishment has the highest rate of burnout among the 3 dimensions with the M=3.19. Results shows that reduce sense of accomplishment has the highest burnout rate for age 16-17 with (M=3.19,SD=0.609). When it comes to gender, Female had the highest burnout level for every dimension with reduce sense of accomplishment gaining the highest mean score of (M=3.25, SD=0.614). The burnout dimension in swimmers is usually from reduce sense of accomplishment therefore coaches should focus on this part of burnout.
