Abstract

In recent years, there have been a lot of events or activities about anime becoming more and more helding in every country in this world, which have become globalized. Anime has become popular with audiences nowadays, especially young people who start to watch anime because of many special characteristics that can attract audiences to watch it compared with other animation productions. Because of the usage of the Internet, anime audiences can watch anime on different platforms everywhere and everytime, with anime fans increasing every moment. But, there is some effect when audiences watch too much anime with different genres as when a person has longer exposure with something, the greater the impact that will have on that person. There was some positive and negative impact toward audiences when they watch different genres of anime. To better explain this matter with how they absorb and learn those impacts, this research applies the Social Learning Theory, which explains that individuals learn and affect others who are around them and the environment, and change their behavior in life. In the context of anime in this research, the youth effect and learn by what positive and negative positive impact, and changing the behavior in life. Therefore, the theory can better explain how youth are most affected by which impact and how they react into reality. It fits the purpose of this research, which is to let more audiences understand that anime is not only an animation production with a negative side only but also having both positive and negative side for them that might affect them in life.
