Abstract

Social networking is a phenomenon of interest to many scholars. While most of the recent research on social networking sites has focused on user characteristics, very few studies have examined their impact on the Malaysian youth’s voting behavior. Besides, since the credibility of social media is always questioned by the public, hence this research relies on survey questionnaires mainly to investigate the usage of Facebook as a source of political information by the youth, the acceptance of youth towards political information on Facebook, and its effect on the voting behavior. Different races of Malaysian youth will be the respondents in order to give a deeper understanding of the topic.
