Abstract

In this study, The researcher would be identifying culture from the character design from three animations, Upin & Ipin, Raya The Last Dragon and Spirited Away. A variety of cultures impacts the selected animations. Content analysis will conduct this research to analyze the culture element of the characters in animations as a requirement. Besides this research aims to investigate and look into whether certain cultural components have a strong influence on character design in animation. Simultaneously, to understand the importance of applying culture towards character design in contemporary animation. This research helped to figure out the implemented culture and how they used it to promote by designing appropriate characters in the animation. Therefore, the implementation of culture in animations should be more widely used to benefit our future generation by emphasizing the significance of their own culture. Since character design on animation has played an important part in introducing the culture of different countries and backgrounds, animation could boost learning and provide certain developmental benefits to the audience.
