Abstract

Resume parsing or resume information extraction is the most time-consuming task in the hiring and post-hiring process. Recruiters have to go through large chunks of information on the resumes, extract the relevant information, organize and save the information manually. This problem is even more apparent when the number of resumes to be processed is much higher than the number of people assigned to process the resumes. Manual processing of resumes is not only inefficient, but also prone to human errors. In view of the above, this project provides a mobile application solution to automate the process of extracting and saving credentials from resumes by using Artificial Intelligence techniques. The mobile application uses face detection technology to extract photos of the applicants or employees from their resumes. Besides that, Optical Character Recognition and Named Entity Recognition are used to extract relevant information from resumes such as the applicant’s or employee’s name, email address, skills and qualification. All in all, this highly efficient solution is developed to free recruiters from repetitive and boring tasks, hence decreasing their workload and increasing job satisfaction.
