Abstract

Nowadays, using chat apps has become a daily need for people. Everyone uses chat apps to communicate with each other now. But not all of the chat apps provide all the features that are required by users. Some people have been looking for a chat app that met all of their requirements. The creation of our Chat App is to make sure that we provide users with the features that are required to perform all kinds of communication from chatting to video calling as well as allowing them to edit images directly using the tools that we have provided. In this project, there are several modules involved. One of the modules is security, the module includes a few sub modules which are two factor authentication, password hashing and others. This module is to make sure user’s privacy are protected. Another main module is chat module, this module includes messaging, 1 to 1 video call and more. The methodology that we implemented is Agile Development which consists of Requirement Analysis, Design, Development, Quality Assurance etc. The reason we choose this methodology is because useful software can be delivered rapidly without wasting any time. To achieve this, we will use GitLab and VS Code throughout the project. To test the functionality of our project we will be using unit testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing to make sure that there are no bugs or errors for the system to carry out all the functions. The UniChat has been developed as we expected it to provide users with different ways to communicate such as chat and group calls and more. One of the weaknesses is that it doesn't have a group video conferencing feature whereby it only has 1 on 1 call. Overall, UniChat ChatApp has met all the user’s expectations.
