Abstract

The purpose of the study is to identify the association between physical activity levels with stress among TARUC students during the COVID-19 pandemic. 206 participants (aged between 19-25 years old) consisted of 152 males and 64 females took part in this study. Participants completed the surveys of demographic data, College Students Stress Questionnaire (CSSQ) (r=.800) and International Physical Activity Questionnaire Long Form(IPAQ-LF) (r=.901). Results shows that 56.3%(n=116) of the respondents are under moderate active category, while low and high active category has the same amount of respondents(21.8%, n=45). There was a significant negative correlation between stress level and physical activity level among TARUC students during COVID-19 pandemic, r=.-550, p=.000. There was a significant difference in stress level between males(M=13.01±5.62) and females(M=18.94±6.21), p=.000. There was no significant difference in stress level between degree(M=15.16±6.41) and diploma students(M=14.32±6.31), p=.382. There was a significant difference in physical activity level between males (M=2267.49±1415.98) and female(M=1372.04±2153.92), p=0.001. There was no significant difference in stress level between degree (M=2106.06±1789.77) and diploma students(M=1858.52±1394.56), p=.336. In conclusion, the findings indicates that stress level is associated with physical activity level. Females perceived more stress and had lower physical activity level compared to males among TARUC students
