Abstract

Nowadays, Go Green concept had become the common interest of some disciplines and they also had put intention in sustainable development. Meanwhile, building construction activities have the most responsibility that directly or indirectly push the world to faces many challenges and problems from climate change and global warming. So, there is a significant problem, what are the appropriate methods for the construction industry to make the changes and thus mitigate the impacts. According to scientist, the most effective way is to consider a “green” design for buildings. Eco-friendly building materials plays the main and crucial roles in building construction can significantly reduce the negative impact of development on the environment and occupants that incorporate of design, construction and operational practices. The application of sustainability, green, eco-friendly and environmentally responsible building materials is a roles and a key ingredient of any high performance building effort. Adopting eco-friendly building materials is an excellent approach to meet the standard needed today by this world. So, the purpose for this study is to understand the major factor that contributed to influence the selection of eco-friendly building materials in order to generate a healthy and sustainable building based on previous researchers. The opinions and reviews from consultants will be considered in this study and an interview will be conducted in order to collect the data regarding the factors that influence the selection of eco-friendly building materials and the impacts of using such materials. The results of this study will be used as a reference to identify the method to raise the public awareness to use such materials in building construction. The anticipated finding of this study is to have a better understanding regarding this research topic.
