Abstract

University students face psychological stress by using computers for too long to complete assignments. Students were also facing musculoskeletal disorders. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between psychological stress and musculoskeletal disorders among university students of TARUC. This study was conducted using THE causal-comparative nonexperimental quantitative research design. 146 Tunku Abdul Rahman University College students(20.15 ± 4.26 years old) participated in this research study. All of the participants answered the questionnaires through the online Google Survey Form. There are two questionnaires included in this study which were Covid-19 student stress questionnaire and Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ). Important data was collected which are their age, gender and educational level. Other than that, demographic data such as age, gender, and level of study were collected. There was a significance between psychological stress and musculoskeletal disorders(p<0.05). However there was no significant differences in psychological stress and musculoskeletal disorders according to gender (P = .569). The conclusion of the study is, there is a significant relationship between psychological stress and musculoskeletal disorders among TARUC students. It can be stated that psychological stress affects musculoskeletal disorders among TARUC students. However, the study also found that comparison of male and female between psychological stress and musculoskeletal disorders had no relationship
