Abstract
Under Voltage Load Shedding (UVLS) has been employed in the electric utility industry as a ‘safety net’ measure to prevent or reduce the possibility of voltage collapse due to high impact disturbance. In this project, it provides an introduction and the overview of the design and implementation consideration of UVLS scheme. An overview of the power system equipment that impacts UVLS design and operation is provided. In this research studies, the islanding event would be simulated by using Dig Silent in a sample of Malaysia Grid network. Then, an under voltage load shedding (UVLS) scheme would be implemented into the grid network in order to recover the voltage level from instability into stable level. The main theory that would apply in the UVLS scheme would be the voltage stability analysis by using the stability index. Then, the concept of power mismatching would be applied into the UVLS scheme as well.
