Abstract

The aim of this research paper is to study the impact of the policy implementations as a whole in the tourism industry during the covid-19 pandemic lockdown. The data used in this study is of qualitative nature. Data was sourced from reputable website articles as well as journal articles. What this study has found is that the policy changes that were enacted have helped the industry minimise its losses as well as help push forward and facilitate the digitalisation of the tourism industry, especially in the SME sub sector. However, the study has also found that said policy changes were deemed by some to be not enough and that the programs launched to help the digitalisation of the tourism sector was lacking in its implementation and enforcement, resulting in only the barebones being implemented by most
