Abstract

Pairing and Finding Association System is a system focused on letting tertiary level students to making new friend, according to the research by O’Malley (2021), majority of the university students having mental health issues especially after 2 years of pandemic and the Pairing and Finding Association System is developed to avoid the situation getting worse by providing a platform to let the students make new friend and chat inside the application. In addition, the Pairing and Finding Association System is also developed to let the university students in finding the sport partners to make the students have more chances to be involved in sport. The Pairing and Finding Association System is built up of several proposed modules which are the Friend Pairing module, Chat Box module, Member Maintenance module, and Sport Partner Finding module. Besides, this system is developed using a prototyping model together with Android Studio IDE using Kotlin programming language. Firebase database is the remote database that applies in the system with the features of Authentication, Realtime Database and Cloud Storage. Unit testing is applied in testing each function of a module to ensure the system performs well after integration with other subsystems. The association system is bringing benefits to all the tertiary level students and is helping them to find new friends as well as solving the common issues they met during university studies. However, there are several improvements including friend searching, acceptance of join players in sport partner requests, integration with the school's facilities booking system, chat box enhancement and push notifications implementation could be improved in the future.
