This project aims to improve parking facilities by introducing a new Android Based Campus Car Parking System with image processing technique that would reduce empty parking space searching time. The “Car Sticker” system currently used inside the TARUC college campus does not implement any control in term of the availability of the car parks which causes the overloaded of the car park and the campus staffs have to go around and search for the car park. Therefore, this project proposes to research on implementation of Smart Parking System using image processing technique with Android application. A Raspberry Pi camera will be used as a sensing device to identify the empty parking space. A car park model that mimic TARUC staff car park is used in this project. The image captured by the camera will be processed through the Raspberry Pi controller and the processed data will be stored in MySQL database which then be transmitted and display on the user’s smart phone via a customized Android application that shows the availability of the car park when the user.
