Abstract

Unlike other forms of CSR, philanthropic responsibilities are not motivated by the desire to comply with external regulatory or legal requirements. CSR challenge is even more pressing for companies because they need to meet a variety of stakeholder expectations for their operation and survival. A quantitative research study collects primary data via online survey questionnaires from 131 employees working in Malaysian family managed firms to satisfy the research questions and objectives. The collected data is then analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS. The findings exhibited that the board’s gender diversity, competency diversity, family involvement would affect CSR (philanthropic) performance.
