Abstract

This project presents the development of a USB power meter using microcontroller boards. With the increasing use of USB powered devices, it has become important to measure the power consumption of the USB devices. The system is designed to measure the current flowing through the USB cable and calculate the power usage in real-time. The proposed design is implemented using an Arduino Nano microcontroller board and an INA260 current sensor module. The results obtained from the system are compared with the readings obtained from a commercially available USB power meter to evaluate the accuracy. The USB power meter can be used as a diagnostic tool or as a metering device. iii
