Abstract

The primary goal of this project is to create a web-based e-proctor system that includes a face verification module as well as a cheating scenario module. The strategy is meant to solve the problem of persons taking tests on behalf of students in order to improve their grades. Furthermore, it can prevent students from engaging in suspicious behaviour such as asking questions of those around them, receiving answers via mobile devices, or disappearing during tests. The face verification feature will allow students to scan their faces before beginning the tests, and the system will verify to see if the individual is the same as a previous face saved in the system. The cheating scenario module will use artificial intelligence, such as facial detection algorithms, to track candidate behaviour during the test and detect academic dishonesty more effectively, ensuring academic integrity of students. The proposed e-proctor software will be developed by using prototyping as the software development model. The developed prototype can be tested by users, so that user feedback can be collected to fulfil the users’ satisfaction. The developed prototype can also serve as early training for future users of the software system.
