Abstract

In an era characterised by rapid technological advancement and demographic shifts, the hotel industry is at the forefront of innovation and growth. As the world embraces globalisation and tourism continues to boom, the demand for exceptional hospitality services has never been greater. Meeting this demand requires a dynamic, highly skilled workforce who not only understand the complexities of the industry, but also possess the passion and energy to deliver an exceptional guest experience. In response to this urgent need, our research study aims to bridge the gap between aspiring younger generations and the vibrant hotel industry. Our project aims to develop an integrated platform that acts as a catalyst to connect young talent seeking job opportunities with hotel establishments that are looking for new talent. The target market of this research study is above 18 to 35 years old age group, undergraduate and postgraduate. In addition, the research conceptual framework includes three independent variables, one dependent variable and one moderating variable. The total number of questions from the questionnaire is 31 items represented for all variables. A quantitative method is also being implemented for the data collection process, where a questionnaire will be created by using Google Forms and distributed to a total of 273 respondents. The three main independent variables that are used in this study are internship, social media, and networking; the dependent variable is employment opportunities; while the moderating variable is career development. By conducting this research study, it enables hotels to identify, evaluate and attract young talent. Other than that, our research is able to change the way the hotel industry recruits and attracts the workforce of the future. Keywords: hotel industry, internship, social media, networking, career development.
