Abstract

The project title is Arduino Disinfection Box. Furthermore, UV-C light is used to sterilise items as it is proven germicidal which can deactivates the DNA of bacteria and viruses and disable the ability to multiple. The main objective of this project is to decrease the infection rate of Covid-19 and other diseases on the society effectively. Moreover, the arduino disinfection box can disinfect items that hand sanitiser cannot such aswallet and phone as the hand sanitiser may damage it. Additionally, Arduino Uno R3 was used as the microcontroller to control the activities of the prototype. Moreover, the main body of the prototype was built using plywood with aluminium foil in inner walls. The main components used in this experiment were Arduino UNO R3, UV-C tube, ballasts, push buttons, relay, ultrasonic sensors, buzzer, limit switch, and I2C 1602 LCD. The push buttons were used to turn on/off the relay. While the relay was used to turn on/off the ballasts and UV-C tube. Furthermore, the limit switch was used to detect the opening of the lid of the box. Moreover, ultrasonic sensors were used to measure the size of the object that is going to be disinfected. Lastly, LCD was used to display the information and buzzer was used to indicate the completion of disinfect.
