Abstract

The over growing of advanced technology has helped to streamline business processes and the main key of implementing technology with systems is to reduce unnecessary waiting time to increase the quality and efficiency of carry out business tasks. Hence, the implementation of TAR UMT Canteen Food Ordering System is able to help to reduce the waiting time of users during peak hours and streamline the business process to prepare food efficiently. All the processes such as sales order, renewal of renting period and track status are able to be done through the system. The system consists of 4 main modules such as Login & Maintenance module, Sales Order module, Menu module and Manage Canteen Renting Period module. The system is developed to enhance the user experience on making food orders for staff and students, easy to maintain orders for canteen operators and manage applications form for admins. The system is designed with user-friendly features and functions which ease the usability for users to learn on how to use the system. During the process of software development life cycle (SDLC), we have used several methods such as observations, interviews and questionnaires to obtain useful information from users in order to ease us to improve the overall usability of the system. Besides, several testing methods such as unit test, system test, integration test and user acceptance test have been used to ensure that the developed system meets the user’s requirements and free from bugs and error to carry out the functions smoothly.
