Abstract

The online shopping system project aims to address the problem of limited access and convenience for consumers by developing a user-friendly platform for purchasing products online. The project's main purpose is to enhance the overall shopping experience and justify the need for an efficient online shopping system. The scope of the project covers the development of a comprehensive system with various functions and features. This includes user registration, product browsing, shopping cart management, secure payment processing, and order tracking. The system encompasses multiple modules or sub-modules, catering to the functional areas of an organisation, such as inventory management and customer support. The methodology adopted for the project utilises modern web development technologies and frameworks. Tools like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and backend programming languages like Python or PHP are employed to create an intuitive and interactive user interface. Databases are used to store and retrieve product information, user data, and transaction details. Agile development practices ensure iterative development and timely milestones. The online shopping system undergoes rigorous testing to ensure reliability, performance, and security. Functional testing verifies proper module functioning, usability testing assesses user-friendliness, and security testing identifies and mitigates vulnerabilities. Compatibility testing ensures smooth operation across different devices and web browsers. The project's results demonstrate a robust and efficient online shopping system that meets objectives and requirements. The system offers an intuitive user interface, reliable transaction processing, and effective inventory and order management. It strengthens the user experience and accessibility, although potential weaknesses in scalability or technical limitations may arise. In conclusion, the developed online shopping system provides a practical solution to the problem of limited access and convenience for consumers. It contributes to a seamless and efficient shopping experience, justifying the need for an improved online shopping platform
