Abstract
This study was undertaken to examine the importance of designing inclusive classrooms for children with special needs in Kuala Lumpur preschools through recognising benefits and challenges experienced by preschool teachers and principals working in an inclusive classroom setting. Participants engaged in interviews focusing on strategies and challenges related to inclusion in the classroom, revealing varied and practical approaches utilised by preschool teachers and principals. These strategies were found to effectively enhance children's developmental outcomes in inclusive settings. Both teachers and principals derive significant benefits from engaging in inclusive classrooms, particularly when working with children with special needs, as it facilitates mutual learning and growth. This study underscores the importance of identifying and implementing strategies to support seamless integration in inclusive classrooms, offering valuable insights into addressing challenges associated with designing and implementing inclusive educational environments.
