Abstract

This study conducted due to children’s lack of problem solving skills as children in the phase of covid has mostly been gone through remote learning caused by lock down that was announced for children’s safety and health during Covid 19. However, this situation reduces children’s opportunity to interact physically and lack of hands on hands on activity which has led the children to lack problem solving skills. Manipulative play is believed as the play method that is able to enhance children's problem solving skills. Study was conducted with 4 children of 3 years old through pretest, manipulative play lesson, and post test as action research applied for this research. The objective of this study is to identify the effectiveness of challenges faced during the implementation of manipulative play on enhancing children’s problem solving skills in learning. The results of the study showed that children's able to improve problem solving skills through manipulative play.
