Abstract
This study investigates the effectiveness and challenges of implementing a STEM curriculum, which is specifically focused on enhancing preschoolers' scientific and mathematics learning experiences. Participants in this study will consist of three-year-old preschoolers from a selected early childhood education centre in Kuala Lumpur. The research that is based on sociocultural theory and emphasises particular importance on Vygotsky's key concepts such as the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) and scaffolding, is aimed at digging deeper into how the integration of STEM curriculum influences the cognitive development of preschoolers. Data collection includes pre-tests, lesson plans, and post-tests, with content analysis used for data analysis. The research aims to provide insights into the impact of the STEM curriculum on preschoolers' learning outcomes and identify potential challenges to its implementation. The findings of the study demonstrated that the implementation of a STEM curriculum effectively enhanced preschoolers' science and mathematics learning
