Abstract

In today's business landscape, scandals stemming from poor corporate governance practices continue to plague organisations, resulting in dismal organisational performance. When governance standards falter, transparency diminishes, leaving room for corruption, unethical behaviour, and mismanagement. Consequently, this toxic environment undermines employee morale and job satisfaction, as trust in leadership erodes and concerns over fairness and integrity grow. Such discontent among employees inevitably translates into decreased productivity and engagement, ultimately contributing to a decline in overall organisational performance. With that, a quantitative research study is conducted through the collection of data via online survey questionnaires administered to a sample of 305 employees representing diverse sectors within Malaysia. Our findings illuminate the central role of communication transparency and conflict management in shaping employees' job satisfaction levels, thus serving as mediators in the relationship between these factors and organisational performance. Specifically, we demonstrate how fostering transparent communication channels and implementing effective conflict resolution mechanisms can bolster job satisfaction among employees, leading to enhanced organisational performance outcomes. By providing empirical evidence and actionable insights, this study contributes to the body of knowledge on optimising organisational effectiveness in the unique context of Malaysian companies, offering practical guidance for strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
