Abstract
This research investigates the intricate interplay between corporate governance compliance, code of conduct effectiveness, organisational culture, and employee commitment within Malaysian public companies. The study begins by establishing the theoretical framework, drawing on Agency Theory, Institutional Theory, Stakeholder Theory, and Social Exchange Theory to provide a holistic understanding of the research domain. It then proceeds to examine the relationships between corporate governance compliance, code of conduct effectiveness, organisational culture, and employee commitment through quantitative analysis of survey data collected from employees of Malaysian public companies. Findings via the use of Statistical Package for Social Sciences Version 29.0 (SPSS) indicate a significant positive relationship between corporate governance compliance and employee commitment, mediated by organisational culture. Moreover, the effectiveness of the code of conduct is found to have a direct impact on employee commitment, further highlighting the importance of ethical standards and practices within organisations. In short, this research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on employee commitment, corporate governance, and organisational culture. By understanding and leveraging the relationships between these constructs, organisations can cultivate a supportive work environment conducive to employee commitment, productivity, and long-term success.
