Abstract

The main purpose of the grocery retailer mobile application is to streamline the purchasing process to simplify the grocery shopping experience which can save time and effort for customers. By leveraging the power of mobile technology, the grocery retailer mobile application will be able to provide a seamless shopping experience that allows the customers to browse products, check out, and make payments all from the convenience of their mobile phone. The purpose of the grocery retailer mobile application is to address the challenges faced by customers in the traditional grocery shopping process. It aims to solve the problems of inconvenience, inefficiency in the traditional grocery shopping process by empowering the customer to check out via the skipQ mobile application. The scope of this project includes client side and admin side functionality. We plan to utilize the Automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) technology in our mobile self-checkout app. The client side includes barcode scanner function, add to cart function, payment, customer membership and purchase history function. The admin side includes the inventory management, employee account management, report generation and company registration management. The methodology used in this project is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) which starts from requirement gathering, system design, deployment until testing. The tools that are used in this project are draw.io, canva, netbeans and android studio. The uml diagrams that are included in this project are class diagram, use case diagram, activity diagram, sequence diagram, etc. In conclusion, the grocery retailer mobile application addresses the existing problems in the grocery retail industry by providing a user-friendly and personalized shopping experience. However, the system may encounter some technical issues such as slow loading times, crashes, or compatibility issues with certain devices or operating systems
