Abstract

This study examined the parents’ perspectives on young children’s technology usage patterns at home. A total of 6 parents (5 females, and 1 male) participated in this qualitative research. From the result, it can be concluded that most parents have different viewpoints regarding their children's use of technology at home. Some people emphasise screen time and content control, whereas others struggle with gadgets and short videos. Most parents address these concerns by setting boundaries and promoting offline activities. Approaches varied, with some adopting a more comfortable posture and others closely monitoring their children's device use. This study is crucial for figuring out how parents regulate and monitor their children's use of technology at home. Awareness of these approaches can help in creating effective strategies to balance screen time with other daily activities and establish healthier technology habits for young children.
