Abstract

Aircraft ditching under unplanned condition is serious case around the world. Many scientists are trying to figure out how the aircraft wing sustainability that able to against the water impact, so that can avoid disintegration of the aircraft wing structure. From the introduction, the issue need to be discuss for this project is ditching in unplanned condition so that the problem statement of the project can set as by different pitch angle may affecting the water impact force acting on the aircraft wing structure. Based on the problem statement, the objective of the project can be set as to simulate the stress distribution of the aircraft wing during water impact and the second objective is to determine the angle of attack before impact that lead to the disintegration of the wing. To determine the parameters of the force impact towards the aircraft wing, the theoretical calculation needed to be calculated and set as the constant forces for ditching performance with different pitch angles. The result just an approximate values with the state of assumptions. Other than that, stress analysis is conducted to imitate the unplanned ditching performance similar with the real performance in reality. The result shown the possible condition of the unplanned ditching performance. By referencing the existing equation , the relationship of the pitch angle parameter can be determined. Throughout this project, the stresses acting on the aircraft wing structure would affect by the change of the angle of attack, also called pitch angle. The simulation result clearly state that change of the angle of attack could affect the disintegration of the aircraft wing structure.
