Abstract

An automated car parking system is a mechanical system that transports the car into and out of the parking space within the parking lot without human intervention. The system is effective for urban areas with high parking demand, whereby appropriate testing is made to establish the mechanisms of the system when subjected to various situations. This project requires the hardware components such as the power supply, IR sensors, Arduino UNO R4 microcontroller, stepper motor with TB6600 motor driver and pneumatic double-acting cylinders. The software used in this project construction includes SolidWorks 2023, Arduino IDE, Fritzing and Arduino IoT Cloud Remote application. The operation begins when the driver enters the parking lot and leaves the car on the pallet. The IR sensors sense the car presence at each parking space and transmit the signal to the Arduino microcontroller. The Arduino microcontroller processes and sends the signal to the stepper motor and pneumatic cylinders to control the car parking mechanisms in x, y, and z-axes. The car retrieval mechanism is similar to the car parking operation. Arduino IoT Cloud Remote application is used for car parking space booking system via the IoT technology.
