Abstract
As city population grows, the demand for sustainable food supplies increases making urban farming a necessity. The project involves the design and development of automated hydroponic system that utilize Internet of Things (IoT) to optimize plant growth and reduce labour intensity aspect of hydroponic system. The objectives of the project are to automate the growing environment of plant, develop remote monitoring system using IoT and create a mobile application. The project includes nutrient control, ambient temperature and electrical conductivity of nutrient solution. The project uses a microcontroller as the central control unit. In the proposed design, Arduino cloud is used as the IoT platform for connecting the application with the sensors.
