Abstract

In this project, the relationship of socioeconomic and health indicators with life expectancy in Asia has been investigated using Multiple Linear Regression (MLR). Data from 2000 to 2015 with various independent variables will be examined. There are five chapters in this report. Chapter 1 introduces the project and the main indicators used on this project are listed out. The objective of this project has been stated is to use regression analysis to model and forecast life expectancy. Chapter 2 reviews recent literature on predictive modelling and life expectancy with different indicators, identifying trends and research gaps. Chapter 3 explains the methodology in detail and what is used in this project to predict life expectancy. The accuracy of the model is measured by evaluation metrics. In Chapter 4, Exploratory Data Analysis and modelling was done using regression and tested to confirm that the regression model fulfilled primary conditions. Chapter 5 summarises the key findings and implications of the research. Future research avenues are proposed to improve the life expectancy of countries. This study aims to contribute to the insight to governments and organisations that can design targeted interventions to enhance overall quality of life.
